Connecting to P6 Cloud Databases

Key requirements for Connecting to P6 Cloud Databases

Connecting to P6 Cloud Databases can use either Web Services or RESTApi depending on how access to the database is configured.

Access Permissions

Ensure you have been granted module access via Web Services - you may need to speak with your IT Team/P6 administrator if you cannot do this yourself:

This will look similar to the below at (1).

If (2) is enabled then we'll need to try via RestAPI

Connecting using Web Services

From Turbo-Chart, Ensure you're connecting using the Web Services option:

And when prompted, enter the URL as:

https://aaa.p6.oraclecloud.com/bbb/p6ws/services

Where

  • aaa will be a region (eg. au1, or eu1) where your database is hosted
  • bbb will be an organisation specific name for your database

And use your own UserName and Password that accesses the P6 Database

Connecting using RESTApi

If the Integration API option is enabled, then you should select the RestAPI option in Turbo-Chart:

And a similar option for a URL will be displayed, this time using: https://aaa.p6.oraclecloud.com/bbb/p6ws/restapi

And use your own UserName and Password that accesses the P6 Database

Successful Connection

If either  of the above connections is successful you will then see a list of projects accessible from the P6 Database and then you can map to the required fields to import:

Connection Issues

If you are unable to connect or have any issues, please make a note of any error messages being received via screenshots and either Raise a Ticket or send us an email to support@linearprojectsoftware.com
