PDF Printing Issues
If printing charts to PDF output faces issues, the steps below will help to identify potential causes and resolutions
The many different PDF generators and PDF Publishing applications available to users may mean that producing PDF output of charts are not consistent across different devices, different applications etc.
We recommend using the "Export to PDF" function (from the FILE menu or CTRL+E) available within Turbo-Chart , that uses the native Windows PDF default printer to generate PDF outputs. Generality this function provides consistent outputs from Turbo-Chart.
Issues when producing PDF outputs
The below issues when producing PDF Outputs, can be investigated and resolved using the troubleshooting steps further below
- Error messages during PDF Production
- Chart elements missing on produced PDF
- Excessive PDF file size
Troubleshooting
Most of the issues above are due to issues with chart elements not configured correctly. The specific issue can be identified by turning on/off specific elements until an acceptable PDF output is produced:
From the CHART menu turn off/on iindividual elements, and check if the PDF can be successfully generated:
If Show Chart Image being off resolves the printing issue
Go to CHART>CHART OPTIONS and then in the Main Image tab, ensure the Scale and Image % options are correct:
If Show Highlighters being off resolves the printing issues
Check the Highlighters from CHART>HIGHLIGHTERS. You may save/load other highlighter files, or export to Excel from modification then pasting back into Turbo-Chart (see Can I Extract Data from Turbo-Chart )
If Show Annotations being off resolves the printing issues
Check that annotations are configured correctly from CHART>ANNOTATIONS. Check that annotations X: and Y: values match positions on the chart. If necessary select an annotation and modify or delete.
If Show Tasks being off resolves the printing issues
There may be specific issues with the Tasks values, Task Descriptions or ShapeCode settings. Please refer to "more assistance" below
